This is the day you eat Moon Cakes. There is obviously a lot more to the festival but this what we did today! The round moon cakes, measuring about three inches in diameter and one and a half inches in thickness, resembled Western fruitcakes in taste and consistency. There are many different cakes each having different fillings such as melon seeds, lotus seeds, almonds, minced meats, bean paste, orange peels, fig (my favourite), green tea and a whole lot more. There are hundreds varieties of moon cakes on sale a month before the arrival of Moon Festival. Traditionally, thirteen moon cakes were piled in a pyramid to symbolize the thirteen moons of a "complete year," that is, twelve moons plus one intercalary moon".
The Moon Festival is a holiday in China. It's an occasion for family reunion. Chinese families like to get together to eat the moon cakes and watch the moon at the Moon Festival night.
Today was another fun day at Starfish! Kids...kids...kids....and more kids....
Matthew looked a bit better but gosh he really is the tiniest little person I have ever seen. He looks like a premature baby but is 2 months old. Thank heaven for Amanda getting him out of the orphanage!
This is a very cute video clip of Ana and Antoinette. Ana will definitely love her new sister!!
Yes....I am in heaven!!!!!!!!!! This was suppose to be a photo but it was set on video. :)
The drive home from Starfish. This is school getting out!!!

the moon cakes sound very delicious. Hopefully Mathew continues to progress. It's nice to see you in the video holding some of the children. It's looks like quite an ordeal when getting out of school with all the traffic. I can't recall anything like it in our area. Continue to enjoy your blog & enjoy the rest of your stay.
